Drew has led transactions for the firm in digital advertising, content and cloud computing, including GroupArgent’s investment in and acceleration of RootAxcess (www.rootaxcess.com) a cloud solutions provider where he serves as Chief Financial Officer and Board Member . Drew also serves on the board of directors of Otelco, Inc. (Nasdaq: OTT), a communications and data provider and one of his former private equity investments he took public in 2004.

Prior to founding GroupArgent, he was a private equity investor at Seaport Capital, a media, communications and business services focused private equity fund where he invested in companies within the online lead generation, digital media, marketing services, direct response media and communications sectors. He served on multiple boards, driving strategy and business development activities, overhauling operating and financial reporting, budgeting, arranging bank and other debt financings and leading follow-on acquisitions.

His investment banking experience prior to GroupArgent includes BT Alex. Brown’s Financial Sponsors team and Deutsche Bank’s Industrial Technology team where he provided strategic advisory and financings for Data Economy related transactions totaling over $3.0 billion.

Earlier in his career, Drew was a member of the finance and business development team for MFS Communications, one of the pioneering companies in competitive local telephony and data communications throughout the United States.

Drew holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton and an M.B.A. in Finance, with distinction, from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He resides in New York with his wife and two sons.

During his tenure at GroupArgent, Maurice has closed mergers & acquisitions and capital placement transactions in excess of $300M in aggregate value in the online media, software and defence technology verticals.

Prior to founding GroupArgent, Maurice worked an as Associate at the Zanett Group, a New York City hedge fund. There he worked closely with Pierre-Georges Roy on the acquisition of six ERP and infrastructure as a service firms while building a large pipeline of potential investment targets. Prior to that, Maurice worked as a banker at Morgan Stanley in the Telecommunications group and as a technology specialist at IBM.

As an investor and entrepreneur, Maurice co-wrote the business plan and served as Chief Financial Officer of EmergingCast, a digital content production company accelerated by GroupArgent and sold to Demand Media, a New York Stock Exchange listed company, 18 months after inception. Maurice was also a founder and CEO of Prodigy Associates, a IT services firm providing staffing solutions to the U.S. Government.

Maurice holds a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. He resides in New York with his wife.

Pierre has 20 years of transactional and investment experience, the last six of which have been focused on advising and accelerating digital companies throughout the Americas. Prior to forming GroupArgent, Pierre was a partner at The Zanett Group, a New York City hedge fund, a finance lawyer at Clifford Chance, a global law firm, and a securities lawyer at Stikeman Elliott.

Pierre’s transaction experience includes financings by placement of debt and preferred and common stock for Telesystem International Wireless (sold to Vodafone), Americel S.A., POPcast, NextEd, Chinadotcom and NetCel 360. He also advised the Hearst Corporation on its acquisition of the San Francisco Chronicle, ATT on its sale of Listel, the State of Sao Paolo phone directory, Telenor on its acquisition of Comsat Mobile Communications, Global Crossing on its pan European roll out, the Hungarian state privatization agency on the sale of 14 state-owned electricity production and distribution companies, Digital Ventures and In Zearch on their sale to FOX Interactive Media, and BuyDomains on its sale to Highland Capital Partners and Summit Partners.

While at The Zanett Group, Pierre was responsible for the sourcing, acquisition and oversight of six ERP and IaaS businesses which were integrated into a NASDAQ listed entity controlled by the fund and for which he acted as Chief Legal and Corporate Development Officer. In 2010, Pierre accelerated EmergingCast, a digital content production company which was sold to a New York Stock Exchange listed company in 2011. He currently serves as Vice-President Business Development of RootAxcess, a cloud solutions company funded and accelerated by him and his Partners at GroupArgent.

Pierre earned a Baccalauréat in Philosophy, Mention Bien, in France and holds two law degrees from McGill University, where he served as Managing Editor of the Law Review. Originally from Canada, Pierre has lived in Europe for 15 years and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

For over 15 years, Carl has held senior positions in technology digital marketing and traditional marketing firms, serving Fortune 100 brands in the U.S. and Latin American markets. Prior to joining GroupArgent, Carl was Executive Vice President at GlobalHue, a top independent communications agency. In his nine years with GlobalHue, Carl held leadership positions including president and founder of the agency’s digital practice, founder of the agency’s retail practice, senior client services lead on the agency’s flagship account, Chrysler Group, and most recently, head of business development. During his tenure, he played a key role in growing the firms revenue’s and moving the company into the clear leadership position in its category.

Previous to GlobalHue, Carl held key marketing and management positions with Digitas and Lab Corporation of America and a finance management position with Boston-based Commonwealth Fund. In total, Carl’s work has spanned industries including retail, telecom, automotive, government, financial services, travel/tourism, ecommerce, and real estate.

Carl received a B.A. from Loyola University in Chicago and an M.B.A. from the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College. He is also an alumnus of INCAE (Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas).

Alexis has 15 years experience in Financial Services, and has held roles as Fintech investment banker with global and boutique firms, strategy and business planning expert for data and solutions vendors, and principal at a $25bn Fintech conglomerate.
 
In 2010 Alexis created Zelig Associates, a Fintech consulting firm that provides strategic advisory services to Fintech companies and private equity funds. Prior to joining GroupArgent, Alexis ran strategy for Thomson Reuters’ Investment Management division, and for Reuters’ Enterprise division. Alexis’ investment banking experience includes ABN AMRO and Putnam Lovell NBF where he was a member of the Fintech M&A teams. Earlier in his career Alexis was a member of ABN AMRO’s Senior Bankers Financial Institutions’ group.
 
Alexis’ recent transactional experience includes the sale of QuantHouse, the leading low-latency trading technology specialist, to S&P Capital IQ, and the $3.4bn LBO of Interactive Data Corp, the market leader in reference data and instrument pricing, by SilverLake and Warburg Pincus. Alexis has performed a number of M&A and strategy assignments for clients such as Reuters, Radianz, Swift, Moneyline Telerate, Cable & Wireless, Odyssey Asset Management Systems, and Finantix.
 
Alexis operates across several Fintech sectors including trading technology, market data, data management, risk management and analytics, research services, asset and wealth management, and alternative investments.
 
Alexis earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, Summa cum Laude, from the American University of Paris, and a Master of Arts in Economics from McGill University in Canada. Originally from France, Alexis has lived in London for 10 years and is now based in New York.

Prior to his work with GroupArgent, Pierre was a co-founder and CEO of Tribal, a Digital Agency he founded in 1998. He sold Tribal in 2008 to Digitas, a part of Publicis Groupe, in one of the biggest Digital Agency deals in the Brazilian market at that time.

In addition to a deep network within the Brazilian Digital Economy, Pierre is particularly adept at accelerating businesses by finding and preparing the appropriate team for driving increased revenues and enhancing margins.

He is currently a board member of three digital companies where he takes great pride in coaching the entrepreneurs to help them succeed in the Brazilian Market. He is an active speaker both within and without of Brazil, including engagements in France, Czech Republic, the U.S. and The Netherlands.

Damián is a partner and former client with GroupArgent who brings significant experience with companies in the Digital Economy as an operator, senior executive, and investor. He has compiled one of the most successful track records for an entrepreneur and investor in Latin America. Damián exited multiple businesses that he either founded or co-founded, three of which GroupArgent acted as sole financial advisor. He continues to stay abreast of activity in the Digital Economy throughout Latin America through Patagonia Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm he founded.

Damián co-founded EmergingCast, Inc., in conjunction with GroupArgent which was a company dedicated to producing, aggregating and syndicating short form videos through online, television and mobile devices. He and GroupArgent sold that business to Demand Media (NYSE: DMD) in July of 2011 and he continues to serve as that company’s Head of Latin America.

Prior to that, He founded Digital Ventures (aka: Directa Networks) and InZearch, and grew those businesses into one of the most preeminent ad networks in Latin America. These businesses were acquired by FOX/News Corporation in July 2007 in a transaction led by GroupArgent. Following the acquisition, Damián served as FOX’s Vice-President - Global Business Development and Co-Managing Director for International Media Channels and led the international expansion to Latin America, Europe and Asia/Pacific, the coordination of 21 offices, the launch of new product lines and worked on the acquisition and integration of additional ad networks.

As a serial entrepreneur, Damián founded CuponesOnline.com Inc (Online Sweepstakes), Netkiosk S.A. (Internet Public Kiosk) and InterMarketing Group (Direct Marketing Agency). He also worked in managerial positions at Global Mind (Online media planning agency), Datatrak (Automatic Vehicle Locations) and Unisys Sudamericana (IT).

Gerd is a partner and co-founder of Zelig Associates and specializes in the Financial Technology & Information sector. Based in London, Gerd also oversees the European eCommerce and Digital Media initiatives for Group Argent. Gerd is an Angel Investor in and served on the Board of Auctionata AG, an eCommerce company that has attracted US$20m of Venture Capital funding in the last 18 months
 
Gerd has 14 years of Investment Banking experience predominately in the Telecom, Media & Technology (“TMT”) sector gained at ABN AMRO and RBS. Gerd worked on over 30 successful sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, public cross-border M&A situations and several equity and debt fund raisings with a total transaction value exceeding US$40bn. Gerd has advised prominent TMT companies in Europe, the US as well as the Emerging Markets. Clients include SAP, Bertelsmann, SWIFT, Reuters, Euronext, Misys, IBA Health, Orascom, Lebara Mobile, Alcatel, Taylor & Francis (part of Informa Group) as well as prominent Private Equity firms such as Apax, Montagu, CVC and Advent among others
 
Gerd’s selected transaction experience includes the $2.4bn financing of the acquisition of Ariba by SAP, Reuters’ acquisition of Equant’s 49% stake in Radinaz and subsequent sale of Radianz to British Telecom, Reuters’ acquisition of MoneylineTelerate, Euronext’s $25bn merger with NYSE, IBA Health’s public take-over of iSoft (including the HY-debt raising and rights issue), Pearl Group’s £5bn hostile offer for Resolution, Alcatel’s €1.7bn asset swap with Thales, Apax’ £1.1bn acquisition of Travelex and AMRO’s sale of its custody business to Citi. Outside the TMT and specialty finance sector, Gerd successfully advised BAA/Ferrovial on the £1.5bn sale of Gatwick Airport to GIP and Babcock & Brown on the £325m sale of PD Ports to Brookfield Asset Management
 
Gerd is originally from Austria and has lived in London since 1999. He studied in Austria, the United Kingdom, Italy and the USA having obtained a MSc degree (with honors) in Business Studies from University of Graz and a MA degree (with honors) in International Relations & Economics from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS).  Gerd is fluent in English, German and speaks intermediate Italian.
